Benefits of Working with CDT

CDT's approach is co-operative and supportive. Wherever you are in the display or lighting market supply chain, working with us will give you access to state of the art thinking, backed up by the resources of our highly experienced people and facilities.  Not only do we formulate novel materials with specific properties, but we can take these through process scale-up and even produce working displays and protoypes.

Our approach includes technology transfer, licensing and training, all developed on an individually tailored basis to ensure that, as a partner of CDT, you are in the best position to exploit the potential of PLED technology.

Benefits

  • Reduced risk - Our cumulative experience is brought to bear to create solutions with high probabilities of success. Processes carried out at pilot scale can be perfected and likely yields estimated. Process capability studies, proof of principle demonstrators and feasibility studies are just some of the ways the world's leading display companies are taking advantage of our unique position to reduce their risks and to work up project justification ahead of major investments.
  • Reduced time to market - Being first to market can be a source of sustainable competitive advantage, and in the technology field, speed of development is often a key factor. By integrating materials development, device optimisation and process development, the complete cycle from laboratory bench to production ready product can be delivered in the shortest possible time.
  • Reduced cost - As an emissive technology, PLEDs are capable of reducing the cost of displays by eliminating unnecessary components e.g. backlights which are required by LCDs. Equally importantly, the solution processable nature of PLEDs mean they can be manufactured by printing the display material onto different substrates; no complex vacuum deposition is required.  To maximise the cost benefits, a co-operative project with CDT would help to achieve the best results in the shortest time, reducing development costs and maximising the chances of early success.
